As upset as Dave is, AG offices are typically involved in the
application & enforcement of statutory laws and regulations, not the
resolution of "private" disputes.  Unless Dave can find a way to fit his
botched timing belt job into some kind of regulated or statutory box,
usually one that involves either criminal penalties or fines, i.e.
fraud, theft, etc., I don't think he can expect a lot of help from an
AG's office.

Personally, I kind of like the idea of hiring a McDonald's clown to
stand on the public street corner just outside of Hoffman's, perhaps
with the Dave's car beside him with the hood up & a fog machine making a
lot of smoke coming out of the engine bar, with a large sign reading "I,
and my companions, Dopey & Goofy work in Hoffman's service department.
Come on over & ask me about the work we do ...."  of something to that
effect.
