Thanks for the opp to ramble on about "my" newly Vitreod' A8) Notice
that I've already decided to repossess it from my wife and will now just
allow her daily use of it. It's that nice IMHO. I'm not gonna worry
about why these cars have depreciated so fast.
Having waxed it now, I'd say it looks like a new black beauty. One very
minor ding in drivers door, prolly fixable ez. Everything else looks,
smells new. It's like the PO drove 50 miles to work, parked in garage,
drove home, parked in garage.
70,000 miles later she's mine for fortythousand less.
WRT the S8, I'll definitely be watching for these to fall into the
$thirties in a couple years?? High miles off lease here they come.
Perhaps a fitting replacement for our then aged urS's. Perhaps the list
likes big cars, cept on track of course. The a8 is so good, I'd imagine
the S8 to be incredible. Maybe add the RS6 components, debhadge and
lurk:)
BTW Joe, I hope Enzo's getting a red one.. And if he will ever be
loaning it to you,,,may want to consider the stainmaster leather:)
Thanks for listening.
Cheers'

Dan,
Nope, it's from New Country in Greenwich and HOT DAMN,
is it sweet! Took a drive in it today and it's
beautiful. Tiptronic? Yes. Does that stop the fun?
Not even remotely. The sport mode has higher shift
points, yadda, yadda, yadda, basically, it shifts more
like I do. The thing is at home cruising on the
highway, has more than enough power than the old man
knows what to do with and I've convinced him to come
track the car this summer. Very smooth ride, gobs
upon gobs of torque and is a real high speed cruiser.
No, it won't push you back in your seat like a 5k
launch from an AWD monster like certain listers' cars,
but it is a terrific cruiser. Very smooth power,
quite torquey and the creature comforts are just fun
to play with. Navigation, OnStar, etc. Overall, a
very cool car. I just may have to steal those 18"
Celebrations, though, if I could just convince him to
go the custom wheel route.

Joe.
