I think you will be able to trace this problem directly to
the fact that the rear antenna has been disconnected in the
name of hooking up the CD-changer. If you get an antenna
source splitter, this problem should disappear (at least
when the CD-changer is powered down; it may cause
interference when powered up). The car has dual FM
antenna's (front and rear windshield) with the AM signal
coming solely from the rear antenna.
