Michael,
today is your lucky day. I know _EXACTLY_ where your problem lies. It's
in the instrument cluster.
Pull it out, and take it apart. In the back there are two 18-pin
connectors (going by memory here), which interconnect the two PCBs. One
connector has the Autocheck feed on Pin 1 (once again going by memory
here), and its solder joint likes to develop a hairline crack. Which
leads to the intermittent buzzing as if a bulb were burnt out. Which is
not. Just touch it up with a soldering pencil. It's a 2 minute job.
This problem had been driving me nuts for several weeks, neccesitating a
complete retracing of ALL the related circuitrly with a multimetre and a
magnifying glass. Was a real bitch to find.
