[s-cars] clutch

Hello all,
I have checked the archives re: clutch, pay someone to do it unless you are
a sado-masochist (i hope I am using the correct word here)I have a 93 s4
with 145k and a slipping original clutch (it has slipped just once, at low
rpms and sudden acceleration to cut off a WRX, rpms went up with no speed
increase)The clutch had felt a little weak but I was in denial about it.
Well, I am broke but need the car so I am CONSIDERING doing the clutch with
a mechanic friend (we both have replaced clutches but never in an Audi or
all wheel drive car). Is it technically demanding or just time consuming? I
have worked on technically demanding cars but this one scares me... Any
BTDT's, special tools, suppliers (Carolina Clutch-from list?) etc would be
greatly appreciated. Off list if too lengthy or desired.
Greg
