[s-cars] A/C problem

A related question...

When I first start up my car in hot weather (100F+) my A/C goes on and off.
I press the snowflake, lights up for a second, then goes away. This goes
away after about 10 min of driving. This is my first summer with the car, is
this normal? A/C works fine the rest of the time. BTDT?
