The funny thing about all the Audi paint problems is my '85 5000S wagon. It
has not been garaged for 12 years - always outside in the harsh Minnesota
climate. Silver metallic. The paint - read clearcoat is as perfect today as
when I bought it in 1989.  There is literally no oxidation or fade, just a
few hail dents and chips.  I have waxed it only once - when I bought it.
Whatever they were using back then is amazing.

My Pearl S6 has had numerous clearcoat peeling problems, but no oxidation to
date.
