Best advice I can give everyone is to wrap every single piece of dash and
trim around where you are working in duct tape before you do anything!!!!

That should always be step 1.  After that, it sometimes takes a good tug to
get it out from it's recessed spot, but there should only be those three
screws holding it in place...  that and a mess of wires behind it.
