Bob -
That's now what & zactly where the A/F gauge now is in my Green car's IC
(not of course to be confused with Hap's very large, but cool IC.")
What do they say, "Be careful what you wish for..... "
Actually, in the @ 4,000 miles or so I got to drive the Green car with the
A/F in that location before it went back in for its jeeze, can it be 4th
turbo mod (K24, RS2, TEC ?? trim) and now the Innovative ball bearing unit),
its not a bad place to have it.
You don't really have (want?) to look at it all the time. I only find it of
real interest & comfort when really pushing on the boost. Moments when I'd
rather NOT take my eyes off the road. Under those circumstances, I find
both the solid bright blue (rich) &/or solid red (lean, don't be there at
24+ psi) LED's will catch your eye (well at least mine in any event, YMMV)
in a periferal sort of way. IMO, it would however on long, "cruise control
on" types of trips, especially at night, be nice to be able to turn the
constantly bouncing lights off. a la Hap "gauging away" in Evergreen.
I suppose on a funtional basis, the best layout would be one that kept the
A/F leds close enough to be seen in the same glance with an EGT gauge, and
if possible your boost gauge.
Mike "the G*D* rebuilt ball bearing turbo is (supposed) to be delivered
today" Pederson,
then I'm going to go see Hap about that new front bumper,
look at my blue SAMCO's behind the wire mesh security fence,
don't mess with Texas cause he's got a tight 23mm rear end RSB
hapersized smile on the front of his car. :-)

~Interesting. I just found a bar graph-type A/F meter which looks,
~according to the spec sheet, like it will fit almost perfectly in that
~spot. See it at: http://splitsec.com/ Click on products and then air/fuel
~gauges.
~
~It ain't exactly cheap but it appears almost a perfect fit for that spot in
~the IC.
