Taka,
I think I saw about 1-2 mpg decrease when running the 16x8 S4 wheels on my
car as opposed to the 15x7.5. With AC, I'm guessing there about 1 mpg
decrease. Wider tires and 17's may make an even bigger difference than I
experienced, but it sound like you're comparing it with a different
baseline. Don't forget you'll also change the airflow with the wider tire
(although that's probably minimal compared with the size of the car).
Any info if the wider tire is heavier, and if so how much?

Subject: [s-cars] Loss of mileage, continued
For those of you who have been helping me with some useful comments,
I appreciate it. I'm still in the process of trying to figure out what
is causing my mileage loss.
One thing I forgot to mention that may be relevant- how much mileage
loss
have you experienced when going to larger tires?
I'm running HTR-ZII 255/40R17, obviously the increase in rolling
resistance
will take a toll on mileage, but going from 225/45R17 to 255/40, I
wonder
how much of a difference this will make?
Any BTDT on that?
Also, on average, what is your mileage loss when running the A/C all the
time?
Taka
