As usual, I have read so much that I am more confused than when I started. =
(Rod, thank you for the great advice and URLs!!).

In the bang for the buck performance category, and especially since my car =
sees a lot of track time, water or water/alcohol injection seems like a pre=
tty good idea. I am going to try it.

I think the safest (but not necessarily the most efficient) approach is to =
hit the intercooler with water from the outside. Then I do not have to worr=
y about failure from water being sprayed directly into intake system and ki=
lling the motor.

I will use the washer fluid reservoir to hold the supply, as I have the int=
ensive washer system with a separate tank for cleaning the windshield when =
necessary.

What do you all think in theory? And should I consider spraying inside of t=
he intercooler? Any BTDTs? I am thinking about going up in boost (again), b=
ut before I do I think lowering the intake temp is a great idea, and will h=
elp every day. The new/bigger/better intercooler route is expensive and may=
also require body/bumper mods which I'm not thrilled about.

Any specific part/.supplier info, and suggested design of system would be G=
REATLY appreciated. If done on a budget using a design of spray nozzle, bra=
cket to aim it at intercooler, water pump, plumbing into the washer fluid, =
and some type of switch to activate the system at 10psi or so, could I do t=
his on a sunny Saturday afternoon?

Thanks!

Bruce

What's the deal on water injection? Hard to do? Reasonable cost? How ab=
out bolting in better IC? New bumpers and massive costs, or what?

    Thanks again for help.

Water injection can be explored for free @ Autospeed.com in Aussie land. =
Peruse the free tech articles until you see water injection, there is a ful=
l series where they take a car to fully auto spray based on load conditions=
for a few $00. Now available from a company called (I think) Nitrous Expre=
ss which sells CO2 spray. Another better alternative is to bolt in a rs2 in=
tercoomer and mount it on the bumper so that you get good air across. This =
will double the cooling you have now. I know it can be done, but I never di=
d tha. I have a 24 x 14 x 3" cooler mounted into the steel inner bumper and=
run the stock cover etc. I need more air across, but we still get to withi=
n 10 degrees of ambient @ full boost. This makes a big diff on track day or=
anytime you dog the car. I can now run thru the gears hard and the thing p=
ulls as hard in 6th as it does in 1st. Big intercooler =3D free HP without =
chips or any other thing, they just add to.
