<snip>
Thus, I believe the assumption is correct that most lens and reflector
systems used in headlights are indifferent to type of light source.
This means that there is no intrinsically right or wrong light unit for
either type of light source.
<snip>
Another observation from my conversion:
The reflector lenses from the new A6 Xenons are different than the Ur
reflector lenses.
The Ur lens are flat and polished on the bulb side, while the Xenon lenses
had a series concentric circles of tiny flutes on the bulb side. Also the
plastic chrome reflector itself is different -- the Ur is round
perpendicular to the light beam, and oval parallel to the beam -- sort of
like half a football.
The Xenon reflectors are oval perpendicular to the beam, wider than tall,
apparently to allow a wider light pattern. The depth of the reflector (the
plane parallel to the light beam) is slightly shorter than Ur reflector.
Not sure if this helps or not, but I sure as hell aint offering any
opinions!
