[s-cars] Steering Column Creak

  I've noticed a small creak when turning the steering wheel when in parking
lots.  Its only noticeable pulling in and out of parking spots at slow
speeds.  It seems to be coming from the steering column under the dash
somewhere.  Does this have to do with the infamous steering rack mount crack?
 I've looked and haven't seen a crack.  Is this steering pump related?  Any
BTDT would be appreciated.  Thanks.
