A friend of mine is having a problem with current drain in his car, a 92+
100 (don't remember exact year). In so far as tracking it down goes, he's
noticed that pulling out a relay associated with the power window system
keeps the battery from dying. He remarked that pulling this relay
definetely kills the power window system; replacing the relay with a new one
had no effect.
Now the car is in a local shop (Autohaus Vic in Bellevue, WA), and the shop
is saying the problem is in the power lock system. Does this make sense to
anybody who knows this generation of car fairly well? As an aside, my amigo
noted that with the relay pulled and the windows disarmed, the power locks
still worked. From that, makes me think the two systems are not connected.
Any input on this, and has anybody seen a general electrical system problem
with these cars leading to a current drain situation?
Also, anybody have any experience or comments on the aforementioned shop?
Thanks for any info you might have,
Derek P
