[s-cars] IA vs MTM......This is Ned Ritchie's input

Fellow Listers:
My .02-
I've purchased software from both Ned and Hoppen in the past, and prefer
dealing with Ned -- he is just so much more knowledgable than Hoppen, and
more customer oriented.
That being said, the two chipsets being considered here aren't even in the
same ballpark. The MTM 1+ from Hoppen transorms the car in to a monster,
always begging you to get into the boost, while any software running the
stock 2.5 pressure transducer will be only a mild improvement over stock.
The difference in mid range torque is truly incredible.
I'd recommend you convince Ned to offer up his III+ (3 bar) software in this
GP, it is essentially the same as the MTM 1+. Also, please don't lose
sight of the fact that 3 bars sensor are NLA, and if you can still get one
with this GP, it might be your last opportunity. Without it, your upgrade
path might turn into a dead end.
Not only have I driven both chipsets, but I've examined the code and have
made 3-d maps of the boost profile of both. I posted the 1+ map to the files
section of yahoo groups last week, and will email the 2.5 bar software's map
to anyone who is interested.
Best regards,
Bob

I just want to gather the facts and not flames here, but now that we
have heard from Ned on the IA vs. MTM issue, let's hear what MTM /
Hoppen has to say.
I would like to hear what MTM has to say about the whole debate of IA
vs. the MTM mod and what their defence is to Ned's comments (again, just
the facts)?
BTW, my vote still remains MTM.
