[s-cars] IA vs MTM

Peter,
That sounds like a sell tactic to me - buy MTM / Lehman now or else you
will never be able to get a 3 bar sensor. Does anyone have any empirical
data / hard numbers to suggest that the 3 bar sensor MTM/Lehman is faster
than the IA 2.5 bar? It could be that the 2.5 bar Lehman / MTM is faster
than the respective Lehman / MTM 3.0 bar version, but that doesn't
necessarily mean that the 2.5 bar IA falls neatly within those categories
and is therefore worse than the 3.0 bar Lehman / MTM.
I'd be willing to take the IA instead because a) you're dealing with
the guy who wrote the chip himself b) he's an upstanding member of the
quattro lists and c) custom development is not out of the question. To
elaborate on c) - if you go with Lehman / MTM and would like a custom
turbo, custom injector, different MAF, etc. - tough luck, you have 2 or 3
cookie-cutter choices and that's it. The sellers have no understanding
how to custom develop your own solution, and have no future plans to do
so. And finally d) no one has any real hard data to backup why,
cross-brand, the 3.0 bar is worth getting over the 2.5 bar, other than a
warm fuzzy feeling.
Also, wasn't there a thread before mentioning the viability of using a GM
3.0 bar sensor instead, etc.? Maybe they aren't even truly scarce to
begin with.
