I'd suggest you look at the VAG-COM tool from Uwi Ross.

This is a software product that runs on your notebook computer,
along with an adapter box that lets you connect the serial port
to either an OBD-II plug or to the 4-pin connectors under the hood
of the UrS4/S6. This is equivalent of the VAG 1551/1552 tool.
You can reset the sevice indicators, and lots more. You can read
fault codes and reset them, and you can dynamically record data
to later read into an Excel spreadsheet to see it as a graph.
It's around $200 for the software and the adapters.
