Colorado also has more than its fair share of armed tax collectors. Be
sure to bring your radar detector. You might consider taking I-70 to
Silverthorne; Colorado 9 north to Kremmling; then US-40 west through
Steamboat Springs to Salt Lake. Great scenery and less smoke from the
forest fires.

Listers,

I am in the California wine country north of San Francisco, and plan to
purchase a 93 S4 in Ohio on Monday, then drive back to California,
probably on I-70 mostly. I have done transcontinental treks many times
in the 60s and 70s, but not recently. I am looking forward to the trip,
especially to the Colorado leg as I have always loved the mountains and
know that there are a lot of real S-car nuts in this area that I might
even spot.

Any advice on "speed-sensitive" sections of the route or anything else
would be most welcome. In preparing for this S4 purchase, I've enjoyed
the many practical tips and pearls of wisdom shared on this site over
the last several months. I'm sure that I'll need the insights of this
group many times in the future. Wish me luck, please, with my "new"
car.

93 S4 Pearl / ecru (soon), my fourth Audi, but first quattro.
