You may be right...I know Ned has made a number of trips to Europe over the
years, and knows these folks (Mayer, Lehmann)...that said, I also know that
he modifies chips to suit specific needs, and has continuously evolved the
chips over the years.  Want an effective sales tactic?  ;)  Before I bought
his product, he called me up one day...asked if I could help him with some
testing.  Huh? Who, me?  Ned knew I had a (then) bone-stock '91 200q.  He
brought up 3 different boxes to plug into my car and test.  (They were
customer boxes that the customers had reported unexpected behaviors in
their owner's cars).  All were IA-modified ECUs, all performed properly in
my car, and all had different driving characteristics.  I bought a chip a
month or two later :)
