Wheel Hanger

I gave up on all of this and just went with the screw in stud kit from
2bennett. The studs have a 5mm hex machined into the end so you just put
locktite on one end, then screw them in with a hex socket and torque to 40
ft/lbs. The studs are $4 each. They also carry the acorn seat lug nuts,
but a $4 each for nuts, you might do better at your local auto parts store

:-)

Amazing, isn't it? Steve D. actually sold me $40 worth of
stuff, not $4000.

It sounds like you got a defective one- my wheel hanger threads
in square and fits, although you're right, it's too thick for some
wheels. I might get the MB version to complement the one I have.

Easy enough- go to your local MB dealer, ask for the wheel hanger
from an M-class, that should use the proper M14x1.5 thread pitch.

Really? Ultimate Garage will sell you something even if you aren't a
Movit brake kit customer? Well color me floored!

I have the ultimate garage doohickey and it doesn't work terribly well
on my car. The threaded end is short, it doesn't thread in square, and
the unit itself is too thick for some wheel bolt holes (or, more often,
some rotor hat bolt holes). Not to mention that I don't like passing the
knurled (grinder) part through the wheel bolt holes.

Maybe I got a funky one? If MB has a more elegant solution, I'd rather
deal with them.
