Let me start with D'OH!!!!!!!

OK, so I'd never heard of this mysterious accelerator pedal chronic problem
with breaking and all until yesterday's posts.  Until LAST FRIGGIN NIGHT!
Dammit!  OK, I'm mostly to blame (don't go there).  But now I'm in the same
boat as a couple of you all, and need to surf back through all them
suggestions.

I was looking at it, can I simply screw a pair of small screws right THROUGH
the bottom of the pedal cover and into the pedal, or will this interfere
with the 'pivot' operation?  It was tough to see the mechanics of it's
operation last night.

If not, ARGH!  What about some nifty aluminum pedals?  Or would that first
require having an in tact OE pedal beneath?

Did I say ARGH?!!!!!!
