Paul,

I did the same thing (and it's not your fault... they ALL break)... weak
joint on the pedal. You CAN screw a new pedal cover into the existing
pedal, as I had done previously with a Sparco pedal cover, but when I
changed it out, I think I see why it was hinged... it actually eases the
abrupt push of the throttle on the cable and linkage, and the result is less
drivline lash and harshness when coming on and off the throttle. So, I
HIGHLY suggest getting a new pedal.

No, the new pedal is the entire arm! But, you don't have to replace the
entire mountion bracket for it (where it mounts to the firewall)... I
didn't realize this was a seperate part number till I studied the EKTA
carefully. Expect to pay about $70 from the dealer, but less from other
sources (not sure who else can get them... Rod or Blau maybe?). You can
also get it through Darin with the S-parts direct. I'm pretty sure he can
get them. But, it's a common part that fails on these cars.

I don't have the PN# in front of me, but I'll try looking for it this
weekend.

Later,
