I did change to the 3 prong also. The MFTS had been acting up ever since I bought the car so I didn't really have a properly functioning guage to compare it to. My t-stat was also bad so it's hard to tell. I suppose it would read somewhat  differently though as it is a totally dfferent design. It doesn't have a +12v power source going to it IIRC.
