The GTI wasn't COMPLETELY stock, it had a Kraftswerke 6 speed, intake and
exhaust. Close to stock though, and yes, I did hang with the 2.7. Don't have
video proof though. :0

You'd be suprised how much difference that 6 speed had on acceleration. It
had a VERY short 1st gear. You couldn't launch in first without spinning the
tires- ever.
