Paul-
I've seen S4tts launched well- there is NO WAY a well-driven
S4tt would have any problem destroying a FWD GTI. Even with
a Quaife you're not going to be able to launch the car like
a quattro.

If you want proof, go to Audiworld and look up Blitzkrieg or
some of the other S4tt drag racers- those time slips are the
real deal, BTST at Englishtown. I'd like to see a VR6 GTI in
the 12s without massive modification, lightening, etc.

Once the S4tt has K04s and RS4 ICs and ancillaries installed,
you better bring some really heavy firepower to the table-
AWE's 420hp S4tt Avant is way faster than an E39 M5. You'd need
to spend far more than $15k on your UrS to match that.

The S4tt is also much faster at the track, given equal drivers,
although it's still a pig compared to a bunch of P-cars.

The GTI wasn't COMPLETELY stock, it had a Kraftswerke 6 speed, intake
and
exhaust. Close to stock though, and yes, I did hang with the 2.7. Don't
have
video proof though. :0

You'd be suprised how much difference that 6 speed had on acceleration.
It
had a VERY short 1st gear. You couldn't launch in first without spinning
the
tires- ever.
