Oh, I know for a fact he'd take me off the line,
there's no question about it, I just said that in that
situation, we were "dead assed even."
Not to mention that my car has over 100k on it and I'm
not about to do a 4k dump to get a good street launch
(he is)
There are also a few other variables as to why we were
evenly matched. Someone chime in here if I'm wrong
(and I know one of you will), but APR has been known
to include a handy little feature in their SW: The CEL
delete. In order to run catless cars without tripping
codes, they enable their software to automatically
delete CEL's every nanosecond or so. This, in effect,
would cause the CEL to not even come on, and, as was
the case in a friend's Jetta 1.8T with APR stage I,
CEL's appeared only AFTER the ECU was taken out.
That being said, he COULD have a boost leak, but I
doubt it as he said the car felt as strong last night
as it ever did.
Another issue is that APR has been known to overstate
their product, while MTM rates conservatively. Are
our cars somewhere in the middle once you tack on a 3"
exhaust with no cat? Dyno time will tell.
I never said I could beat out an APR Stage II, I only
stated facts:
We ran from 3300 in 3rd to 110 mph and were side by
side the ENTIRE way. That's what happened, whether
you want to believe it or not.

I stand by my word, and those who know me know exactly
what that's worth.

Joe
