[s-cars] 16 inch wheels on big reds?

I just tried this - when I put the BigReds on I put the stock 16" Avus
Wheels over them.  Very tight.  I don't know why, but I attempted to
turn it by hand when it was on the jackstands and realized that the
stick-on wheelweights were in the way.  That could have been very ugly.
I took off the weights and carefully drove home and slapped the 17's
on.  With the 16's it is less than a 1/16" clearance circumferentially.

The (??) Avus, I think that the style, 16's fit -- just barely.
photo attached if that helps you any in ID'ing the wheels, &
in illustrating just how close a thing it is.  Close enough
that it may come down to who did your brake bracket &/or
how heavily Luigi & Toni were laying down the paint at
Brembo when you calipers were made.
