Folks:

I had the intermittent CC problem and then finally it stopped working
completely.  When initially engaged, I could feel through my foot on the
accelerator that the servo was pulling in somewhat, but the speed would not
hold.

Solution: the switches on the clutch & brake needed replacement.  They have
both an electrical system connection as well as a back-up vacuum system.
Turned out the vacuum system was leaking down, disengaging the CC.
