IMHO any car with the entire front engine ahead of the front axle doesn't have the makings of a "good dedicated track car", nor any car above 3000 lbs.

:-)

If you really want a "dedicated" track car,  find something RWD, or if you must have the Quattro, go for a UrQ, 4k or similar lighter car.

Not only does a lighter car have better handling (and faster with the same hp), but also significantly decreases your tire and brake pad/rotor budget.

S-Car Crew,

OK, somebody talk me outta this quick.  I've located a '95 S6 that has
the makings of a good track car.  If one puts an S6 on a major diet how
much can one get the weight down to.   I seem to recall that Leigh
Anderson and Scott Lampkin have/had S6 track cars.  Anybody have any ideas?
