Just changed my 93 S4 over to Amsoil.  Seemed to run much better for the fi=
rst couple hundred miles.  Got home this evening and smelled oil burning.  =
Looked underneath to see the dreaded puddle.  Thought it was the crush ring=
 not seated.  Turns out the Amsoil must have "cleaned up" the old sludge ar=
ound the pan gasket.  I guess the stories are true about changing a higher =
mileage engine (102k) over to synthetic.  Looking at the oil pan, I can't t=
ell what all would have to be taken off to change the gasket.  Tried tighte=
ning down the allen screws that I could get to with no luck.  It's leaking =
from the part that is higher up on the motor.  Does this make sense?  How b=
ig of a repair am I looking at?  Any BTDT?  TIA.  Brian
