Yes there is, the so-calle "over-centre spring", but my gut tells me
that your clutch MC is done. If you have air in the MC you'll get
exactly the same pedal behaviour, although the over-centre spring will
be still intact.
Once there, do yourself a favour and replace all three components: the
MC, the slave and the rubber pressure hose. For bleeding you'll need a
pressure bleeder. The clutch sys is impossible to bleed via conventional
means.
Gentlemen, I hope you don't forget to bleed your clutches at least once
a year, when you bleed brakes. See what happens...
