[s-cars] FW: Clutch Problems

Igor: I am hoping it is the over-centre spring. Something that I did
not mention in my first message - when I pushed the Clutch in, I did
feel like something snap, i.e. like a spring. Where is the over-centre
spring located? Is assessable from under the Dash? Obviously, I would
to check this first. Again, thanks so much. I really appreciate the
s-cars list. It is a tremendous asset.

Yes there is, the so-calle "over-centre spring", but my gut tells me
that your clutch MC is done. If you have air in the MC you'll get
exactly the same pedal behaviour, although the over-centre spring will
be still intact.
Once there, do yourself a favour and replace all three components: the
MC, the slave and the rubber pressure hose. For bleeding you'll need a
pressure bleeder. The clutch sys is impossible to bleed via conventional
means.

Gentlemen, I hope you don't forget to bleed your clutches at least once
a year, when you bleed brakes. See what happens...
