I had the same problem on a 4000sq that i had. My master cylinder failed. In
order to get home, I tied a shoe lace to pull the pedal up after evey shift.
That was fun.Ibought a MC repair kit and Presto. I'm not sure if the S4/S6
is the same.
Good luck,
Mani

Gentlemen: I need help in diagnosing a problem with my 1995 S6. This
morning when shifting, the clutch pedal went to the floor and did not
return. It will either stay on the floor, or I can pull it up and it
will stay in that position. When I manually push it down, it travels to
the floor with some degree of force, and the same when I pull it back
up. Prior to today, it was working fine. Is there a return spring
that may have broken or come-off, and if so, where is it located? I
really appreciate any guidance you are willing to provide me. Thank
you.
Dan
