ed,

if the camaro had angular recessed headlights, it was an LT1.  if
it had flush headlights, it's an LS1.

the LS1 makes 305 hp.  the SS makes 330 hp.  i think these numbers
are conservative, because the LS1 in the corvette C5 makes 345 hp,
and while there are differences, they aren't THAT big.

also, superchargers and other modifications are readily available.
callaway has a twin-turbo LS1 corvette C5 that makes 650 hp.

i don't think a UrS4 can keep up with even a stock camaro LS1,
unless the audi had mods.  he was probably dallying a little.
