i wouldn't say that the antiroll bar avoids deterioration in ride
quality. the bar connects the rear wheels and makes the suspension less
independent. if you go over a bump at one wheel, it'll transmit force
to the other wheel. isn't ride quality one of the reasons why audi deleted
the rear antiroll bar after 1992 (1993 for canadian cars)?
however, it'll have less of an impact on ride quality than stiffer springs.
