After all this talk of encroyable French food, I have to give you a short
report of my recent (short) trip to Paris.
The second night I was there, and it was a dark and stormy night ... I slipped
on a stone stairway in the rain and broke my right leg. This was followed
by about a week in a hospital on the north edge of Paris, before I flew home
complete with a cast on my leg. I did not have Frederic's phone number with
me, it was still in my suitcase in the apartment, so I wasn't able to even
talk to him while I was there.
Now the good news, the food of course was great. None of that sausage.
When I slipped, there were two bottles of wine in my backpack and they both
came through unscathed. (The folks in the hospital wouldn't let me at them).
I'm home, and doing fine except for being barely mobile! At least I did
get a chance to speak French for a few days, and that was one of the
objectives of the trip!
Now, it's time to plan the next trip. The timing on LeMans will be
about right. :-)
