Bramall Turbo is a great resource. They have even provided replacement
parts for Audi Canada. No Connection, I just got my Bilstein shocks from
them.

Most of the 944's I believe came with K-26s and I have seen a lot of K-27
turbos advertised as being off of eariler 911's.

~Anyone ever look into what Porches has used in the past on there different
~models.

Yes, for the closest matches look at the 944 Turbo and the rarer 944 Turbo
S.
Keep in mind (a) you're looking at a substantially different displacement (@
2.4 to 2.5 liter) engines, that I believe (b) were/are operating under a
much more primitive fuel injection & engine management system, at least in
comparison to the Audi MAF & 92-97 Motronic systems capabilities.

~My thinking is I might be a good way to get an core for a rebuild.

Depends on what you want/need to do, but for most UrS4/6 applications IMO
why? You've already got a Porsche blessed, factory supplied & certified
suggested, tested solution, the RS2. Unless of course you want to travel
further off the beaten path. As Paul K asks, "How high is your pain
threshold?"

~I have been trying to find some good engineering sites on the Porsche model
~spec's but haven't found anything positive yet. Any BTDT,

Yes

~am I wasting my time ?

Depends. I think you're in Canada, "hey." Try talking to some one at
Brammal (?? spelling) Turbo's -> you can probably look them up via
KKK/Switzer's info pages at
www.turbodriven.com

PS - for another pretty good general turbo site you might also want to take
a look at:
General Turbo info: http://fahlgren.homepage.com/cars/turbo/turbo_calc.html
if those pages are still up & running.

HTH some, Mike P.
