One major difference is that at least for the air-cooled cars and the
earlier water-cooled cars, Porsche has always used oil-cooled turbos,
no water jacket like those found on the Audis after the KH (MC, 3B,
etc.).

951 and 951S have used different flavors of K26s
930 used a K26?
965 used a K26, later a K27 on the 3.6 turbo
993tt uses K16s
996tt uses K16s, GT-2 and X50 optioned 996tts use K24s

Anyone ever look into what Porches has used in the past on there
different models. My thinking is I might be a good  way to get an core
for a rebuild. I have been trying to find some good engineering sites on
the Porsche model spec's but haven't found anything positive yet. Any
BTDT, am I wasting my time ?
