WG: [s-cars] First gear noises?

Ha ha ha, Bjorn, I'm laughing at myself because I just went out and tried
this and yes, the noise returns after coasting downhill without using the
brakes, restarting of the motor, downshifting to 1st, accelerating again.
But, keep the suggestions coming!!!!! I think you're on to something here.
Other listers have replied privately and I'm trying many crazy things while
driving. You can imagine the looks I'm getting from people:-)
The noise is torque related meaning if I give it hell in 1st gear and torque
the motor(front end raises up) the faster the clicking noise until about
4000 rpm when the noise drops off. Second gear, noise is there but with less
repetitiveness. Third gear, not enough torque on the motor to hear it. So, I
know that both motor mounts are good(removed and checked them) I have not
removed and checked the tranny mounts though. Sounds like it is coming
directly from the left front suspension/wheel/brake area. But, either way,
what would any of this have to do with bringing the noise back with a
restart of the motor once everything is warmed up?!?!? I'm tellin ya.......
Keep em coming guys, I'm going to figure this sumbitch out! Thanks!
