Paul-
Happy Friday. :-)
I don't push my car hard on the street (usually) because
you never know what's around the next corner. At the track,
as long as the corner workers are on the ball, you will have
some warning about what's around the next corner. Also, everyone
is (usually) traveling in the same direction at the track.
We'll see how things go in time, I think I'd be better served
driving a car with lower limits initially so that I can push the
limits at much lower speeds. I have much more fun in the twisties
in a rental Grand Am than my own car due to the fact that I can
4-wheel drift the Grand Am on the street at relatively low speeds
(30mph) while doing the same thing in the Audi would require insane
speeds (more like 60-70). Also, the fact that with CDW and liability
coverage, the Grand Am can be crashed nearly at will with very little
financial consequence. :-)
Anyone want to split a Neon for a track event? 4-5 sets of brake pads,
10L of brake fluid and at least an extra set of wheels/tires should
cover it, the remainder can go toward the next event. :-)
