Fred,
I agree with you on NiCr - it is impossible to solder as I had found at
the age of 12 while trying to repair a hotplate with a burnt heating
spiral.

However, I did solder Cu wires to pure Ni electrodes welded onto the SS
acceleration sensors that I used to design in that "women's underwear'
Co"  :-)
