[s-cars] Anyone replace hard brakeline?

Hey Jim:

I've replaced a hard line on my old 5KCSTQ. It was the left rear line
that - believe it or not - rubbed through against the trap arm. Kinda scary
coming to a red light and the pedal going to the floor. I guess after 300K
miles most things are wear items. Anyway, I digress. The replacement was
easy. The pain was that the line did not come preshaped from the dealer.
It was the correct length but straight as an arrow. Shaping it without
kinking it was a slow and methodical process - but doable. Don't know if
your line will come pre-shaped but...

Subject:	[s-cars] Anyone replace hard brakeline?

Hello,
When installing the BigBrakes and the braided hoses last week, I noted
that the front left rigid brakeline (ABS computer to left front) has a
nut that was starting to chunk off (as in a small piece of it is
missing). I carefully tightened it and it is not leaking and works
fine, but was curious if anyone had ever replaced one of these? I doubt
it's as easy as taking the cover off the ABS unit, removing the line and
dropping in a new one (Couldn't be that easy, could it?).
Thanks,
Jim K.
