[s-cars] water leak?

Ray,

I had this problem, caused by a plugged drain in the heater box compartment
under the hood. If you haven't yet checked this one out, open the hood and
pull the plastic shroud covering the compartment at the rear (near the
wipers). If there's standing water in here, you've found the culprit! I
access the drain from the passenger side. It's pretty close to the center,
a bit under the heater box. If it's plugged up it's also hard to find.
Just poke something suitable from the top until it's cleaned out. Mine was
plugged with leaves and needles.

My S6 can't swim. Or, at least I don't think she has been swimming, and
certainly not without my permission. Some evidence of sand in her
pockets, but more importantly, she has LOTS OF WATER in the passenger
footwells (front & rear). What gives?

My drain lines appear to be clear, and window seals are tight. I've
recently noticed water dripping on my Cannon mats from under the dash,
especially under hard cornering <grin>, but have not yet torn the
interior apart to find the culprit. My old 90Q20v needed an annual exam
to have the defrost/dehumidifier drain line (pinch diaphragm tube, for
lack of a better description) cleaned out. Failure to do so caused
water to back up in the line and dump on my foot from under the dash.
But, I can't find such a line under the S6 . . . Any ideas?

TIA,
