[s-cars] battery drain - window/lock servo?

Someone wrote to me about this awhile back, when I
posted about the battery, but I can't find the
response and wanted to see if anyone else has had
this:
Every once in awhile I'll come out in the morning to
find my (92's) battery dead. No pattern. very
infrequent. Sometimes stone, clock-doesn't-work dead.
First thing I did was replace the battery. Then
noticed I heard a buzzing in the driver footwell on
and off, when the car was off. Someone suggested the
servo for the windows and locks is kicking in when the
car is off. I located the relay which was making the
buzzing (the largest of the three in the footwell,
numbered "329" on mine. I pull this out when the car
is off until I could figure out what's wrong and
hadn't had a problem until the other day.
Even with the "329" out , the car was stone dead again
on Sat. AM. I hooked up my battery charger on the
low, 2 amp setting and it would go on and off - I
could hear the servo kicking in and out, along with
the stock cell phone speaker buzzing. on for 5
seconds off for about 10-15. this would seemlingly
shut the charger off too. So no charge was
accumulating in the battery. strange. doors would
lock and unlock on their own in this cycle.
Couldn't get the cycle to stop and wondered if perhaps
the "329" was not the right one so I removed the
little one (cube-shaped) labeled "219" on mine. This
stopped the kicking in and out of the sevo/phone
speaker along with the lock movement and the car
accepted the charge and allowed me to start it and run
fine. BUT now the radio will not turn on - and the
changer in the trunk (stock) will not eject the
magazine.
So the questions are:
1. is the servo bad and how can I verify?
2. if so, does anyone know which relay, if any,
controls this while I find a new one (dealer price is
pretty high - anyone know a good source? I hear they
are uniform across many audis)
3. theories on the radio? (I know it's on a circuit
breaker - can it be reset or is it fried??)
Everything else works fine electronically. I've used
the charger before and not had anything strange
happen.
Thanks for reading.
