I might be in the minority in this group, but small screwdrivers and soldering irons don't seem to work well with all my 10 thumbs :) Stuff like this usually ends up costing me more than I'm trying to save!
Earlier this year, I sent my switches out to a fellow lister, who replaced the bulbs (Im sure could do LED's if requested, and returned them to me quickly, for a very reasonable fee. You can contact Hank at BBBurban at aol.com if you're interested in having something done.
No association, just a happy "customer" of a fellow lister's "on-the-side" efforts, who thought other listers with more than two thumbs might appreciate a alternative method to get their switches beaming again.
Cheers,
Keith "Ten Thumbs" Maddock

I guess it's that time of year again :-) So when you are in that dark
cold car at night, groping around trying to find the seat heater switch
with the burned out light bulb ...
Fred Munro put together an excellent seat heater switch repair article,
complete with pictures and diagrams. It shows how to install L.E.D.s
in the switch to avoid future burned out bulbs.
This was previously available only as a PDF document.
It is now on this web page:
