Hi:  First, please understand that I am a first time S - car owner who
has just purchased a 1995.5 S6.  Prior to my purchase, I owned a 1998 A4
and have been looking for an S-Car for awhile.  It is a one owner car
with about 83k miles, and is unmodified.  The Audi dealer performed the
90k maintenance on the Car before the sale.  Therefore, I am novice when
it comes to modifying these amazing cars.  However, I have been
following and reading about S-Cars and the different types of
modifications during my quest to buy one.  Initially, I plan on
installing a K& N filter and a Stage I Chip.  Yesterday I was reading on
an article by Jim Conforti on Charlie Smith's Web Site that compared a
stock BMW filter with a K & N filter.   My read of the article is that
the K & N filters are not what they are made-up to be, i.e. they allow
more dirt through than the BMW Filter.  I would appreciate any input
regarding whether to install a K & N filter, or any other suggestions to
a first-time S-Car owner.  Thank you.
