[s-cars] CD Changer error code?

Our 1995.5 S6 Avant's OEM CD changer went tango uniform last weekend.  Just
stopped working.  Reports "CD ERR" or similar on the head unit.  Apparently
no power to the changer, since I cannot eject the CD carrier.  Fuses
(driver's side) look fine.  I did a quick search of the s-cars FAQ and past
emails but only found one similar instance with no obvious resolution.  This
is the Bose head unit and the 6 CD changer.

Any pointers appreciated.
