Thanks for the tips Cody. I'm about to do two installations, one at my
house, and a matching one at my dad's.
With regard to the cable tv tip, I know :)
Know what else I found out...AT&T takes a *long* time to shut off cable
after customers switch to RCN. I switched almost a year ago and then found
that RCN didn't carry SpeedVision, er Speed Channel. Switched the cable tv
back to the AT&T feed.
Now I'm not paying anyone for cable and am getting feeds from *both* RCN and
AT&T <grin>
If AT&T does shut me off, I'll ask them to provision a basic service at
$6/month.
Interestingly, the RCN installer first disavowed any knowledge of their
inability to shut off basic cable (as long as I was getting phone and/or
Internet service from them). Then he offered the information that they're
*supposed* to put a filter on the line...and then *gave* me a splitter so
that I could feed both my tv and cable inputs.
I guess the fact that I had done *all* the inside wiring for both networks
impressed him...
