OK, I spoke with the claims supervisor at Heritage Claims, the administrator
for the Accel warranty.
He has both an initial position and a fallback position.
Initial - The TPS is a sensor in the emissions system. Therefore, it is not
covered.
My response: I basically convinced him that it is not an emissions
component, since Audi says it is not, their dealers say it is not, and the
manual says it is not. It is in the fuel system according to Audi. He says
GM, Ford, and everyone else consider the TPS to be in the emissions area,
but kind of shrugged when I told him Audi does not.
Fallback: Once I semi-convinced him it's in the fuel system and not
emissions, he said that the contract is inclusive, and since the TPS is not
a named covered item, it is not included in covered items.
My Response: I told him it is a sensor in the fuel injection system
according to Audi, and that his contract says that fuel injection sensors
are covered. Again, he said Audi calls it a TPS, not an FIS, so since it is
not named and is not actually called a Fuel Injection Sensor, it is not
covered. If Audi called the part a Fuel Injection Sensor, they'd cover it,
but TPS's are not covered since they are not named
Sh*t.

Paying for a TPS, dammit
