Robin:

Absolutely agree!
There is definitely an increased responsibility on the sizing, installation,
and maintenance of SS lines, but they might be the best "bang for buck"
upgrade you can do to the car. I've driven a G60 car with ss lines & pagid
pads on the street, and it had a hell of a lot more pedal feel than a stock
s4/s6 does.

Guys
C'mon now - we fit PTFE brake lines, shrouded in braided steel to firm up
pedal pressure, to get predictable response when we stuff the pedal to the
floor `and somebody fits wrongly sized lines on the rear, they screw up and
then they say leave the "bulgy" rubber lines on the rear axle.
If you stuff a chip in the car and it fails, there is a very good chance
that all that will be bruised is your ego, if your brakes fail the
likelihood of of strife is magnified a thousandfold. Given the risk to life
from fucked (expletive intended) brakes and the fact that that good brakes
are the cheapest way of improving your lap times, lets get with some REAL
program guys. Every time you go hareing into a corner and brake really hard
at the last moment do you want to wonder if the brakes will work, do your
nearest and dearest know you are playing the percentages?
Proper brake lines are part of the equation, can you explain why crap lines
on the rear are a good idea whilst good lines on the front are a justified
option?
R+C
PS any answer which relies upon cancellation of incorrectlly calculated
brake/piston forces, back to school.
